At London Grove Friends Kindergarten and Little Acorns Preschool, children learn and play surrounded by 300 years of history at the London Grove Friends Meetinghouse, immersed in the beauty of historic grounds, and the serenity of nature-based play areas—all while experiencing learning rooted in joy, curiosity, and the natural world.

At London Grove Friends Kindergarten, children experience the wonders of every season: jumping into fall leaves, sledding down snowy hills in winter, riding trikes across our grounds, flying kites on a windy spring day, and planting bulbs that bloom into summer beauty. Childhood here is filled with discovery, imagination, and play.

Our experienced educators are dedicated to nurturing each child’s unique talents in a caring and supportive atmosphere. Through story, song, play, and hands-on discovery, we support children in exploring the natural world, engaging in tactile experiences, and developing critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Our philosophy is rooted in Quaker values of simplicity, equality, honesty, respect, peaceful resolution of conflict, and community involvement.

With small class sizes and a nature-based approach, children develop body awareness through movement, rhythm, and play, while also cultivating an enduring appreciation for the beauty of the world around them. Class Offerings
Little Acorns
Little Acorns Preschool welcomes our younger friends to participate in the fun all week! Our program provides a gentle, nature- and play-based introduction to learning, thoughtfully designed for curious 3 and 4 year olds.

Hours: Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm for the morning class.

Eligibility: Children ages 3 & 4.

Half Day Kindergarten
Our Half-Day Kindergarten program offers a nurturing and engaging morning of learning. Children explore core subjects through our nature-based philosophy, with plenty of time for play, creativity, and discovery.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–12:00 pm

Eligibility: Children who will be 5 years old by January 31 of the school year
Full Day Kindergarten
Our Full-Day Kindergarten provides the same warm, nature-centered foundation as the Half-Day program, with additional time for deeper exploration, projects, and community-building.

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm; Friday, 9:00 am–12:00 pm
